Final Reflection

Final Individual Cultural Diversity Course Reflection

In my first year at college, I thought that I will be studying a lot of related classes to my major which is Applied Media, such as photography, drawing and graphic design, but I found out that there is a subject called Culture Diversity and I start to discover it and see how far I will go with it.

We started the classes with Ms Jisook, many new topics to me been introduced by this class, I started to love this subject after each class because many new words came up to me and the real meaning of them which makes me to practice these words everyday and couple of my habbits been changed as well, Mr Gregory took over her and he continued to teach us more and more about this subject, and the most interesting class was blue eyes browns eyes video which played at that class which shows the real effect on those new words. It is very important to learn about Cultural Diversity not for students only, but for everyone because it gives you more details about the world and how to communicate in the best way with everyone from the world, no matter who he is or where he is from, or even not to judge people upon there life's background.

If the UAE government would have a Harmony Day, I will sujest that in this day everyone who lives in UAE should participate in this, for every city there will be a place that everyone should meet at and communicate with each other and start to talk about him self and his background without any borders, a video should be played so everyone can watch it and learn from it.

Cultural Diversity would give an advantage to the person, so he can communicate at the best way to everyone in the world at any part from the world.

Exercise 10B

UAE started to ensure the workers equality and justice as the international standards of human rights as we can see the latest policy about providing the workers two hours break in the peak of sun light and heat. The UAE was the first Arab country in the region to establish anti trafficking law and made a hard effort to get rid of this issue as this been a global issue and many countries are fighting it, which can lead the UAE and approach it to the right direction of development and growth.

Exercise 10A

In many parts of the world, we can still see slaves but in a modern way that our generation would not notice that there are slaves still exist. A real example of that is the workers, who migrate from there country to survive and got a better life rather than being poor. The simple things that we use daily is being made for us and delivered as desired, while many slaves survived to do them and to make sure that we will feel great to get them as the way we want.

Exercise 8b

In UAE we have more than 180 nationalities and this might be a reason which makes us to communicate with everyone easily and we can see and feel the cultural dimensions everyday.
I will start to say that we are flexible so we are a low power distance people and everyone can notice that from our leaders in the country. Emaraties are more social orientation people because we like to talk and work together and spend more time together. One more thing about us that we are collectivism society which you may see that everyone is welcome to anyone house.
